Caterina Tiazzoldi created a temporary shop for the well known coffee company Illy Café. Illy Shop is located in Galleria San Carlo, close to the Duomo in Milano and is conceived as a reconfigurable space based on a single element – a 45 x 45 cm cube. The space is a result of parametric modeling, thanks to which it was possible to manipulate the cubes and tinker with their physical properties in order to achieve the best result.
The object consists of 200 cubes, specifically adjusted according to their purposes. The cubes create desks, the counter, lights, cabinets and basically everything else. Choices of colour were also important. The author went with red and white – the colours which comprise the identity of the brand.
